RENOVATE | How much does an interior designer cost?
1 - Phone call - FREE
There are a million different ways to renovate a house and so many professionals that can get it done for you. Therefore I think it’s important to be able to have a chat about your project, what you are trying to achieve, what stage you are up to and if an interior designer is right for you.
In this chat you can ask me absolutely anything you want to know about your project with no obligation to move on with me. To make it easy, you can select a time for our phone call here.
2 - On site consultation - $770
Following this phone call we set up a consultation at a cost of $770 where we meet on site to take the full brief (which is a list of all your project requirements). I will take the time to walk through all the spaces, understand what you are trying to achieve and offer advice as it comes up. Again, you can ask me anything in these consultations so you become clear on what you are wanting to achieve and how your project will run.
Based on our site visit I will put together a proposal for you that outlines how your project will run. This proposal will be a variation of my design phases which can be found here and is tailored to you so there isn’t anything included that isn’t necessary.
Again, there is no obligation to continue with me at this point and you will have gained a good direction of your project.
3 - Design project (fixed fee quoted for each individual project)
Your design project will be split into phases as outlined in your proposal to make sure we have milestones to meet and keep us on track. It also means that you are only paying for each phase as you go and at anytime you are able to take what we have designed and walk away.
As a guide, for larger renovation projects the interior design fees can be around 2-8% of the total build cost. I work on a fixed fee so that you know the exact cost for the interior design services being completed.
What you spend on an interior designer you will get back in spades with highly considered spaces, not to mention the time you will save running around supplier showrooms trying to pick your products and materials!
The biggest things I want you to take away from this is to feel comfortable approaching an interior designer to guide you through the design process and if they are right for your project. Also know that while I know engaging an interior designer is a relatively big commitment you won’t be paying your full free up front and you have plenty of opportunities to pause your project.
